Georgia State House District 51 had been solidly red for decades, represented by an 18-year Republican incumbent who had run unopposed the previous three elections. My friend Josh McLaurin ran in 2018 to be a progressive, pragmatic voice advocating for Georgians who can’t advocate for themselves. He handily won reelection in 2020 and was elected to the State Senate in 2022, still using this wordmark that I drew.
